Metacon AB (publ) participates in two different programs at this year’s Almedalen Week in Visby. On Tuesday 5 July, Metacon’s CEO Christer Wikner will participate in Hydrogen Sweden’s programme “A balanced energy debate”. On Wednesday 6 July, Metacon will arrange a seminar entitled “The green hydrogen revolution is here” within the framework of the industry organisation Energiföretagen’s “Arena Energy 2022”. In addition to Metacon’s CEO Christer Wikner, Håkan Johansson, CEO Gotlandsbolaget, Hans Kreisel, CEO Nordion and Per Rosenqvist, CEO Statkraft Hydrogen Sweden, will participate.

The event at Hydrogen Sweden’s “Arena for Hydrogen” that Metacon participates in is on July 5 at 09:00 – 09:45 at Glassmagasinet, Skeppsbron 2. The moderator is Björn Aronsson, Executive Director of Hydrogen Sweden.

Metacon’s program on Wednesday 6 July within Arena Energi 2022 will be held in “Klosterlängan” at the ruin by Stora Torget at 10:30 – 11:15. The moderator is Marie Brodin, Head of Communication and Collaboration at Örebro University and board member of Metacon.

“It is immensely gratifying that Almedalen Week is back “live” again after a few digital years and that green hydrogen in the meantime has rapidly advanced as an important enabler of the transition to future non-fossil energy and transport sectors. I look forward to discussing these issues with various parties on site in Visby.”, says Christer Wikner, CEO of Metacon.

About Metacon AB (publ)

Metacon AB (publ) develops and manufactures energy systems for the production of hydrogen, heat and electricity. The core products are based on a patented technology that, through so called catalytic steam reforming of biogas or other hydrocarbons, generates hydrogen. The development of Metacon’s reforming products is done within the wholly owned subsidiary Helbio, which is a spin-off from the University of Patra, Greece and was founded by Professor Xenophon Verykios in 2001. From the onset, the business has focused on catalysts and advanced reforming for high-efficiency hydrogen production.

Metacon also offers complete hydrogen refueling stations (HRS) and system solutions for the production of hydrogen through electrolysis, a large and globally growing area for small and large-scale production of green hydrogen. Electrolysis is a process of starting and driving a chemical reaction to split water by adding electricity. If the electricity used is non-fossil and green, the hydrogen will also become completely climate neutral and green. Green hydrogen can be used in, for example, the transport sector, the basic industry and the real estate sector with a better environment and climate as a result. www.metacon.com
